About Us

Ashwickers brings handwoven wall baskets into contemporary homes while keeping their materials, makers, and story visible.

What We Make

Our collection is composed of decorative wall baskets made from locally gathered grasses and strips of date-palm leaf. Each piece is coiled and stitched by hand, creating a tactile object that can be displayed individually or as part of a layered arrangement.

Made by Hand

Women artisans in South Asia create every basket one coil at a time using knowledge passed through generations. No machine can reproduce the small decisions of the maker’s hands. Subtle variations in weave, shape, colour, and dimensions give each piece its individual character.

A Meeting of Traditions

The makers’ own long-standing coiling tradition encountered basket designs inspired by Indigenous peoples of the American Southwest. The artisans interpreted that inspiration through their local materials, colours, and techniques. Ashwickers baskets are not Native American-made; they are a distinct South Asian expression shaped by this cross-cultural encounter.

Our Approach

We focus on honest product descriptions, careful presentation, and support that respects both the customer and the craft. Orders are wrapped in natural kraft paper inside a sealed shipping bag, and damaged orders are supported with an appropriate free replacement or full refund.
