Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about our handwoven wall baskets, shipping, returns, and caring for your piece.

What are Ashwickers baskets made from?

Each basket is made from locally gathered grasses coiled with strips of date-palm leaf. These natural fibres give every piece its warmth, texture, and subtle variation.

Are all Ashwickers baskets handmade?

Yes. Women artisans in South Asia make every basket by hand, one coil at a time. Small differences in weave, shape, colour, and dimensions are part of the work rather than defects.

Where do the designs come from?

The baskets unite the makers’ generations-old South Asian coiling tradition with designs inspired by Indigenous basketry of the American Southwest. They are not Native American-made.

Will my basket look exactly like the photographs?

Because natural fibres and handwork vary, the basket you receive may differ slightly from the photographs in colour, weave, edge, or pattern placement. The overall design and character remain consistent.

How do I choose the right size?

Available sizes and exact dimensions are shown on each product page. Measure your intended wall space before ordering, especially when combining several baskets.

How should I hang my wall basket?

Our baskets are lightweight wall pieces. Use a fixing suited to your wall type and support the basket from a firm section of the outer weave. Hanging hardware is not included unless the product page states otherwise.

How should I care for my basket?

Dust it gently with a dry, soft cloth or brush. Keep the basket dry, and avoid soaking it, placing it in persistently humid areas, or exposing it to strong direct sunlight and heat for long periods.

How are orders packaged, and when is shipping free?

Shipping is free on orders of 2,000 TL or more. Each order is wrapped in natural kraft paper, placed in a durable shipping bag, and securely sealed for transit. Read more on our Packaging & Shipping page.

Can I return or exchange an item?

You may request a return or exchange within 14 days of receiving your order. Products should not have been used beyond reasonable inspection, and exchanges are subject to availability. See Returns & Exchanges for the complete conditions.
